Malankara Church Calls for the Release of Metropolitan Jonathan

The hierarchs of the Malankara Church called for the speedy release of Metropolitan Jonathan of Tulchins and Bratslav. A statement in support of the metropolitan was made by the co-chairman of the Working Group on Coordinating Bilateral Relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Malankara Church, Metropolitan Zechariah Mar Nikolovos of New York and Metropolitan Abraham Mar Stefanos of the Diocese of Great Britain, Europe and Africa. Members of the Holy Synod of the Malankara Church declared that they would pray fervently that «that the authorities, who encroach on the life of the Church with such unjust measures, would refrain from such cruelty in the future.»
