"According to our data, there are at least 5-6 million parishioners of the UOC-MP in Ukraine", - Filipovych

A well-known propagandist and lobbyist for the interests of the OCU, Lyudmyla Filipovych, has spoken out about the number of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and their attitude to the persecution of the UOC episcopate. About it writes «Apostrophe».
«There are no exact statistics on the number of believers, but according to our data, in Ukraine parishioners of the UOC MP — at least 5-6 million, it is from small to great. Of course, there are 70-year-old grandmothers who have been praying to the Moscow Patriarchate all their lives, and there is no way to reach them: they will blindly believe that their favorite bishops are innocent of anything, and suffer for their faith, but there are also other, sensible believers. Therefore, there will be both. But the fact that the facts of treason, cooperation with the occupants should be made public — it’s certain», — says Liudmila Filippovich.
Recall, according to KMIS data for 2022, 75% of the population of Ukraine identifies itself as Orthodox Christians, of which allegedly: 54% — supporters of the OCU, 4% — belong to the UOC. According to various sources, for 2022, even with the most optimistic calculations, the population of Ukraine ranges from 34 to 35 million. If we focus on these data, it follows that 25 million people recognize themselves as Orthodox Christians. At the same time, if we take into account the statistics of KMIS, that supporters of the OCU are really 54%, then it is approximately 13.5 million people, and the UOC — 1 million.
However, based on the data presented by Ms. Filipovich, it appears that 24% of the total number of people who identify themselves as Orthodox Christians actually belong to the UOC, rather than 4% (according to KMIS reports). Thus, thanks to Ms. Filipovich’s revelations, one of the main myths about the UOC, designed to convince society that the UOC is a minority church, has been refuted.
