Minister of Culture of Ukraine: Clerics of the UOC have the right to transfer to the OCU

Acting Minister of Culture of Ukraine Rostyslav Karandeyev said on the air of the telethon what will happen when the bill to ban the UOC is signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Karandeev noted that the clerics of the UOC «have long been offered to move under the supremacy of the PCU,» and now they also «have the right to move to the OCU.»

The acting minister said that the issue regarding the property and territories used by the UOC will be resolved after the state returns them to its ownership. This is what happened, for example, with Lavra.

«In the future we will consider its future, in particular the involvement in the implementation of religious cults and ensuring and further monastic life in this holy territory,» said Karandeev.
