I hope that during the month the topic will be brought to an end, - representative of the OCU on the ban of the UOC

A former priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and current representative of the OCU, Heorhiy Kovalenko, expects that the case of banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be brought to an end within the next month. He said this in a commentary for the Ukrainian news and analysis website Apostrophe.

“The government bill emphasized Russian influence, the second focused more on property issues. In the third – to maximize compliance with the Tomos, in the fourth the process of transition of religious communities from one church to another was described in as much detail as possible. And now the wishes of the deputies must be taken into account so that the final document will be successfully adopted. Everything depends on political agreements”, – Kovalenko said.

In addition, Heorhiy Kovalenko hopes that the issue of the law banning the UOC will be resolved within a month.

“Hopefully, within the next month, the topic will be brought to a conclusion”, – Kovalenko summarized.
