MP Sovsun: Law on banning the UOC is not yet considered in the Verkhovna Rada committee

Inna Sovsun, an MP of the Golos faction, has said that the Verkhovna Rada’s committee for humanitarian and information policy has not yet considered draft law No 8371 on banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in order to prepare it for a vote in the second reading in parliament. About it she said in an interview to the YouTube-channel “Tse nihto will not divide”.
The MP emphasized that until the bill was not passed in the second reading and it was not signed by the President, the UOC operates in Ukraine on legal grounds.
According to Sovsun, there were barely enough votes in the Rada for the draft law to be voted in the first reading.
“It makes me feel painful. Because it’s about the political maturity of the nardeputies”, – she noted.
