The court found the UOC cleric guilty under Article 436 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code and sentenced him to five years in prison

On the materials of the SSU imprisonment received a cleric of the UOC in Dnipropetrovsk region. This is reported by the press service of the SSU.

In the message of the security forces noted that during sermons the cleric “justified the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and the seizure of part of the territory of Ukraine. Also during personal conversations with parishioners the cleric persuaded them to leave for Russia or temporarily occupied regions of our state”.

The court found the cleric guilty under part 3 of article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition of lawfulness, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants) and sentenced him to 5 years in prison. The verdict of the court came into force.
