The humanitarian committee of the Verkhovna Rada is in turmoil over the activities of Robert Amsterdam

The Committee for Humanitarian Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has been in an uproar over the activities of the head of the international human rights company Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Robert Amsterdam, who represents the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The committee members claim that the human rights activist exerts pressure on MPs to disrupt the vote for the bill No. 8371, aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. About it reports «Ukrinform».

«Just finished the meeting of the Committee, which considered an unprecedented situation — a threatening letter to the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the bill to ban the Russian Orthodox Church from the American law firm, which notes that it represents the interests of the so-called Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. The firm is financed by sub-sanctioned former MP Vadym Novinsky», — committee member MP Volodymyr Vyatrovych wrote on Facebook.

Vyatrovych said that the deputies appealed to the SBU with a request that the information about the activities of Amsterdam turned out to be in the possession of the American intelligence services.

«Given this, decided to appeal to the SBU so that they informed their American colleagues about the situation», — summarized Vyatrovych.

We would like to point out that earlier we reported that members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are going to file a complaint with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation against the head of the international human rights company Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Robert Amsterdam, who represents the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
