Kharkiv regional council deputy incites hatred towards the UOC

A member of the Kharkiv regional council from the European Solidarity party, Halyna Kuts, has publicly incited hatred against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. On the air of the Espresso TV channel, Kuts groundlessly stated that among the believers of the UOC she allegedly «observes a large number of those who expect Russia to invade the city.»
«As for lovers of Russia, there are many of them in Kharkiv, unfortunately. They are there and they are a bit quiet. However, what I observe, they have recently become a little more active. Especially those who visit the churches of the Moscow Patriarchate. In Kharkiv, frankly speaking, the Ukrainian church is discriminated against. The OCU churches in Kharkiv are located somewhere on the outskirts and are not very easy to get to», — Kuts said.
In addition, without offering any evidence to support her claims, Kuts reported that the UOC allegedly started talking about «friendship with Russia,» and the Church’s believers allegedly became an element of the Russian Federation’s information special operation.
«Visitors of the UOC MP suddenly started talking about friendship with Russia again. They have been silent for a long time. Therefore, the impression is that they are being connected and activated just now. Probably, the RF is preparing for a new information special operation», — added the Deputy.
It is worth noting that earlier we reported that the Institute for Religious Freedom updated the data on partially damaged or completely destroyed religious buildings that were destroyed as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war. According to the organization, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s churches suffered the most damage and were destroyed.
