The Ternopil diocese of the UOC was robbed of the land under the cathedral

The Western Court of Appeal overturned the decision on the right to use the land plot in the city of Ternopil, where the cathedral of the Ternopil diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of the holy martyrs Vera, Hope, Love and Sophia, as well as the diocesan office are located. Thus the court upheld the decision of the Ternopil city administration of April 17, 2023. About it reports the site hromadske.te.ua.
“The court decided the appeal of the Ternopil city Council on № 10/01 from 16.01.2024 to satisfy. The decision of the Economic court of the Ternopil region from 22.12.2023 on the case № 921/290/23 to cancel. To make a new decision. In satisfaction of the claim of the Office of the Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to the Ternopil City Council to invalidate the decision of the extraordinary twenty-fourth session of the Ternopil City Council № 8/p24/02 of 17.04.2023 “On the termination of the Office of the Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the right of permanent use of land at Eugene Konovalets Street, 1″ to refuse in full. It should be noted that the situation with the Cathedral of Cherkassy diocese of the UOC is similar. Earlier we reported that on June 20, 2024 Cherkassy City Council unilaterally changed the purpose of the land plot on which is located the Cathedral Archangel Michael Cathedral of Cherkassy diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The land previously expropriated from the UOC will be divided into 7 parts and transferred to the ownership of the municipal service “Parks Directorate”.
