Hierarch of the UOC took part in the enthronement of the Bulgarian Patriarch

On June 30, 2024, the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Augustine of Bila Tserkva and Bohuslavl, took part in the enthronement of the newly elected Bulgarian Patriarch Daniel. Metropolitan Augustine, representing the UOC, among other delegates, attended all the events held at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia. About it reports the Telegram-channel «Pravblog».

Recall, earlier it was reported that in an extremely difficult vote, the incumbent Metropolitan Daniel of Vidin was elected Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia in the second round of voting, gaining 69 votes. Metropolitan Gregory of Vratsa received 66 votes. Three ballots were recognized as invalid.

For his part, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius of Kyiv and All Ukraine, congratulated the newly elected Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria on his enthronement.
