In Khmelnitsky diocese of the UOC reported the seizure of another church

The press service of the Khmelnytsky Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has published an official report on the illegal seizure of the St. Nicholas Church of the UOC in the village of Pylypy, Khmelnytsky region. According to the Khmelnytsky diocese, supporters of the OCU, in the presence of the police, broke down the doors of the religious building and thus took possession of the church. The corresponding message was posted on the Telegram channel of the Khmelnytsky Eparchy of the UOC.

“On July 16, 2024, representatives of local authorities with supporters of the OCU seized the premises of the St. Nicholas Church in the village of Pylypy, Khmelnytsky district (Krasny district). Pylypy of the Khmelnytsky district (Krasyliv deanery). The illegal seizure of the church was carried out boldly and by force in the presence of the police by breaking the front door. Among the organizers and perpetrators of the illegal seizure were again a deputy of the Khmelnytsky District Council A. Chernievych, the village head of Pylypy V. Polischuk, S. Bobukh, M. Svistun, Y. Babiychuk and other supporters of the OCU among the authorities,” — the diocesan press service said in a statement.

Earlier, the Director of the Department of Information, Culture and Religions of the Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration Inna Mikhailova reported that the authorities managed to “transfer” about 300 religious communities from the UOC to the OCU in the Khmelnytsky region.
