Rada will reconvene when the law on banning the UOC is finalized - Parliament speaker

The speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, has said that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will be able to meet next time when the scandalous draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is finalized. The official pointed out that so far there are still not enough votes in Parliament to ban the UOC. Stefanchuk’s comment was published by Ukrainska Pravda.
“As soon as the working group finishes drafting the bill on banning religious organizations associated with Russia and submits it to the conciliatory council, we will immediately determine the date of the next meeting. The fact is that it has changed significantly by the second reading compared to the first. And some colleagues do not agree with all the changes. In addition, this bill should be such that no one could appeal it in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine after its adoption. As soon as the working group finalizes the document, we will immediately bring it to the hall,” — Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
We shall remind you that during the blocking of the Verkhovna Rada rostrum because of the failed vote for the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the former president of Ukraine and head of the European Solidarity faction urged to watch the performance of Michael Jackson, who seemed to say that “the Russian Orthodox Church is a blow to the heart of Ukraine”. In this way, the politician wanted to convince those present that the U.S. supports the adoption of Law No. 8371.
