Recall, earlier we reported that June 28, 2024 “opening” in the format of a museum of the ancient Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Savior of Chernihiv, which was taken away from the Chernihiv diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in October 2023. It is reported that from now on the entrance to the temple will be paid, and it is no longer planned to perform Divine services in it.
The Chernihiv “reserve” does not plan to transfer the Trinity Cathedral taken from the UOC to any religious organization yet

The head of the Chernihiv Ancient Historical and Architectural Reserve, Nataliya Rebrova, said that the Ministry of Culture has no plans to transfer the Trinity Cathedral, which was taken away from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to any religious organization. Rebrova said that at this stage the transfer of religious buildings to religious organizations is not possible due to the ongoing restoration works, and whether this will happen in the future is still difficult to say. The official told about this in an interview with the publication “UNIAN”.
“From my point of view, the Spassky Cathedral should remain for every Ukrainian, and now there are no grounds to consider the transfer of the temple for the use of any religious community. This opinion is also shared by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. As for the Trinity Cathedral, there is no concrete answer yet. The state has taken responsibility for this complex of 16 monuments, realizing its historical significance and the need to preserve it. Today it is important to ensure the functioning of all engineering networks and protection of the objects of the Trinity monastery, which can be considered a reserve in the reserve”, – said Rebrova.
