Ukraine will register the structure of the Constantinople patriarchate, - ex-MP

The Office of the President of Ukraine together with the Patriarchate of Constantinople are preparing to register the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, which, according to their plans, will include the Ukrainian Orthodox Church after its ban. This was reported by the former Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Igor Mosiychuk.
“In Ukraine will be created or rather registered a new church — UOC-KP (just do not think that the Kyiv Patriarchate) UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH OF CONSTANTINOPOLIS PATRIARCHATE! This church, or rather exarchate (branch) of the Constantinople Patriarchate according to the plan of the Istanbul Fanar and our Bankova should take the clergy and parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church after its ban,” — Mosiychuk wrote.
Mosiychuk added that the authorities intend to offer the clergy and believers of the UOC such an alternative after the ban, and the SSU will work with dissenters.
“Zelensky is persuaded that after the ban of the UOC all the clergy and flock of this church will run to the exarchate of the Constantinople patriarchate and will not run, the SBU will force. As for me, this is a strategic mistake and the Constantinople exarchate will have much less support among believers than the PCU. Moreover, the branch of the Patriarchate of Constantinople will take away more parishes from the PCU than from the UOC,” — the former MP added.
Earlier, former cleric of the Volyn diocese of the UOC Oleksandr Kolb, who was banned from ministry for transferring to the PCU, said that the Patriarchate of Constantinople does not intend to create separate stavropigia or exarchates for the clergy of the UOC who do not want to transfer to the PCU. At the same time, Kolb’s colleague “on the shop floor” — an out-of-state priest of the UOC, Andriy Pinchuk, shared the opposite information last September. In one of his interviews, Pinchuk stated that the creation of a parallel exarchate by the Phanar is 100% likely to happen.
