Ternopil city authorities plan to transfer cathedral church of Ternopil diocese of UOC to OCU

The Ternopil City Council is making plans to transfer the Cathedral of the Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of the martyrs Vira, Nadia, Liubov and Sophia to the OCU. The city council is going to consider the transfer of the church in the near future. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Ternopil Eparchy of the UOC.
«Dear friends! In these coming days, we ask for your fervent prayers for our cathedral and diocesan administration. On Friday, the City Council is scheduled to consider the following issue «On granting permission to develop a land management project for the allocation of land at Yevhen Konovalets Street to the religious organization «Parish of Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia of Ternopil of the Ternopil Diocese of the OCU,» — the message says.
As reported, the Ternopil City Council commented on the decision of the Lviv Court of Appeal to withdraw from the lease the land plot on which the Cathedral and the diocesan administration of the Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are located. City Council lawyer Pavlo Varoda said that if the diocese refuses to voluntarily dismantle the Cathedral of the Martyrs Vira, Nadiya, Liubov and Sophia located on this plot, the administration has the right to demolish it on its own.
