"From the "Servant of the people" will vote 150 people," - Deputy Poturaev on the ban of the UOC

Ukrainian MP and head of the Humanitarian and Information Policy Committee, Mykita Poturaev, has said that if the Ukrainian parliament votes for the draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, it will have the necessary number of votes for its adoption. The MP is convinced that the pro-presidential Servant of the People party will find at least 150 votes in favor of banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. About this he told in an interview with the publication «RBC-Ukraine».

«We have 130 signatures, from our deputies, we know that there are deputies who did not put signatures, but will vote for sure — so we calculated that from the «Servant of the people» will vote 150 people for sure. This is a lot, and it is enough for the bill to pass in the hall together with the votes of other factions and groups. Because some deputies who at the first reading still had doubts, did not vote, have already even put their signatures, and someone publicly assured that he will support the bill in the second reading. No matter how hard it is, but 240, or even more votes are definitely there,» — said Poturaev.

We will remind, earlier the speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk said that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will be able to meet next time, when the scandalous bill № 8371, aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, will be finalized. The official pointed out that so far there were still not enough votes in parliament to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
