The Rada will not give up the idea of banning the UOC - Robert Amsterdam

The head of the international human rights company Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Robert Amsterdam, who represents the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, has reported that the Verkhovna Rada has not changed its intentions to vote in favor of draft law No. 8371 aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The lawyer draws attention to the cynicism with which they approach this issue in the Ukrainian Parliament and the unwillingness of deputies to think about the consequences of the adoption of such a law. About this the lawyer wrote in his account in social network X.
«Not only that, the Rada leadership still wants to pass Bill No. 8371, a thinly veiled law on religious cleansing rejected by their own legal department. They also demand to be praised for it and refuse to be held accountable for the consequences and the damage it does to Ukraine,» — Amsterdam wrote.
We will remind, earlier we reported that the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine plans to launch a criminal case against the head of the international human rights company «Amsterdam & Partners LLP» Robert Amsterdam, representing the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The criminal prosecution of the human rights defender in Ukraine will take place following a statement by the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
