The National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting refused to register media outlets of one of the UOC dioceses

The National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine has refused to register the Sumy diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as a mass media outlet. According to the commission of the national council, the diocesan administration provided an incorrectly executed Charter of the religious organization, as the Sumy diocese did not re-register from «UOC» to «ROCinU». About it reports the publication «Detector Media».
«The Sumy diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church wanted to register its edition. However, the regulator refused her. At the request of the regulator, the diocese provided its charter of the religious organization. And, according to the National Council, it was not brought in compliance with the requirements of Article 12 of the Law of Ukraine «On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations», and therefore it was no longer valid in terms of the name of the organization. Therefore, the registration was denied», — stated in the message.
We will remind, earlier we reported that Khmelnytsky regional military (state) administration refused to register the charter of the Holy Dormition religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Letichev settlement of Khmelnytsky region. The reason for the refusal is the absence of «autonomous status recognized by local churches».
