“There is every chance to pass this bill,” - MP Yurchyshyn on the ban of the UOC

Ukrainian MP of the Golos party Yaroslav Yurchyshyn has said that the scandalous draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is likely to be passed in the coming week. The MP added that the parliamentary factions have already agreed on this. About this he told in a commentary “Hromadske Radio”.

“It looks like that at the next plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada, which should be held next week, there is every chance to pass the bill. Then will be able to eliminate Russian agent networks from the religious sphere. The parties “Golos”, “European Solidarity” and part of the party “Servant of the people” have clearly stated that they will not go into any other bills until the law is adopted, which will prohibit the activities of Russian agency under the cover of church organizations”, – says Yurchyshyn.

We will remind, earlier we reported that religious scholar and lobbyist of the OCU in the media Tetyana Derkach criticized the people’s deputies of Ukraine for lying about the bill № 8371, aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Derkach believes that the MPs are deliberately lying when they claim that no religious organization in Ukraine will be banned by this law.
