“The media and public organizations will be able to write denunciations": MP Knyazhytsky told how the inspection of parishes of the UOC will be held

An MP of the European Solidarity party, Mykola Knyazhytskyy, has spoken about how religious communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be subject to inspection by the State Service for Ethno-Politics and Freedom of Conscience in view of the new law No 8371. According to the MP, the reason for the inspection, according to the new law, may be complaints from local self-government bodies, mass media and public organizations. The words of the deputy are reported by the Glavkom publication.

“Appeals can come from state or local bodies, public organizations or media. Initiate a review can also initiate the State Service itself. After that, a study is conducted in the course of which a religious expert examination may be appointed. If the evidence collected as a result of such a study confirms the existence of links with a religious organization, the activity of which is prohibited by law, the State Service issues a prescription. The prescription specifies the identified links and gives a deadline for their elimination. If the prescription is fulfilled, it is withdrawn, which means that the state has no claims to such an organization. If not, the State service will apply to the court”, – said Knyazhytsky.

We will remind, earlier Ukrainian journalist Vitaliy Gaidukevich said that Volodymyr Zelensky sent a delegation to the Patriarchate of Constantinople in order to obtain the Tomos for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The journalist claims that it is the Office of the President of Ukraine that is doing everything to ensure that the law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is passed with the least losses for the Church itself.
