We will remind, earlier Ukrainian journalist Vitaliy Gaidukevich said that Volodymyr Zelensky sent a delegation to the Patriarchate of Constantinople in order to obtain the Tomos for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The journalist claims that it is the Office of the President of Ukraine that is doing everything to ensure that the law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is passed with the least losses for the Church itself.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a discussion of the Ukrainian church issue with representatives of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. The head of state said this while commenting on the adoption in the Verkhovna Rada of draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The corresponding video message is published on his Facebook page.
“I would like to note today an important work carried out by the Verkhovna Rada. The law regarding our spiritual independence has been adopted. This is what we talked about with members of the Council of Churches and Religious Organizations. And the other day I will speak with representatives of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. We will continue to strengthen Ukraine and our society,” – Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
