“They are still on the lists on the website of the Russian Orthodox Church": Religionist told for what will be banned UOC

A well-known lobbyist for the OCU in the media, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Lyudmyla Filipovych, named the reasons why the Ukrainian Orthodox Church may be banned under Law No. 8371. Filipovych claims that the bishops of the UOC have not withdrawn from the Synod of the Russian Church, and their data still remains on the ROC website. She said this on Hromadske Radio.

“The leadership of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church did nothing of the kind (withdrawal from the Russian Orthodox Church — Ed.). Moreover, they did not withdraw from the Synod and are still in the governing bodies of the Russian Orthodox Church. Go to the website of the Russian Orthodox Church and you will see that among the list of bishops there are Ukrainian bishops. I am very pleased when representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church say that they are not responsible for what is happening on the websites of the Russian Orthodox Church. But if you had officially appealed, refused and protested, they would probably have been removed from there,” — notes Liudmyla Filipovych.

Before the vote in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Law No. 8371 “on the prohibition of the UOC,” Liudmyla Fylypovych said that its adoption in the current version would put an end to the history of religious freedom in Ukraine.
