OCU says it will not fulfill UOC's conditions for starting dialogue

OCU spokesman Yevstratiy Zorya said that the organization would not fulfill the conditions of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which would open the door to a dialogue. Zorya believes that the fulfillment of at least one of these points will be perceived by the OCU as a surrender. He wrote about this in his blog on his YouTube channel.
“We are waiting for a response to the appeal of our Primate, but the faithful of the OCU ask whether it is possible to conduct a dialogue and talk about unity with those who are still under the rule of Moscow, which blesses the destruction of the Ukrainian people. Will such unity be sincere, will it not destroy the OCU, turning it into a clone of the MP, but under a different name? Our Church is open to dialogue. However, no one will deviate from what is determined by the Tomos in favor of the ultimatum of the Russian Orthodox Church, which destroys peace around the world,” — said Yevstratiy Zorya.
Earlier, the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, complained that his proposal to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to unite “without conditions” was not heard. Dumenko continues to argue that all Orthodox church institutions in Ukraine should become part of the OCU, thus demonstrating that the ultimate goal of the “unconditional dialogue” is to force the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to join the organization he leads.
