Dumenko complains that his call for unification has not been heeded

The head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, complained that his proposal to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to unite “without conditions” was not heard. Dumenko continues to argue that all Orthodox church institutions in Ukraine should become part of the OCU, thus demonstrating that the ultimate goal of the “unconditional dialogue” is to force the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to join the organization he leads. Dumenko wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“The enemy resorts to various methods, manipulations, outright lies, and uses various tools. We can see the results of his work in church life, where he also tries to stir up strife and misunderstandings. Canon law and the Tomos stipulate that all Orthodox church institutions within Ukraine should be in organizational and jurisdictional unity, as one and only Local Orthodox Church. However, it is with great sadness and pain that we all witness that, primarily because of the position of the Patriarchate of Moscow, some Orthodox have not yet heard the call for unity directed to them and have not fulfilled this duty to be united,” – the head of the OCU wrote.

Earlier, the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, spoke about the adoption of Bill 8371 in the Verkhovna Rada, aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Epiphany called the event a “historic decision” and again called on representatives of the UOC to begin “a dialogue without preconditions.”
