Earlier, the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO), which includes the representative of the RCC in Ukraine, published a joint statement on the fact of the meeting with the head of state Volodymyr Zelensky. The AUCCRO said that they fully support Zelensky’s initiative to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by adopting the scandalous bill No. 8371.
MPs grateful to the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches for supporting the ban on the UOC
Ukrainian MPs who initiated the ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have expressed gratitude to the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO) for supporting this parliamentary initiative. Ukrainian MP Yevheniya Kravchuk noted the contribution of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations to the dissemination of information that freedom of religion prevails in Ukraine. She stated this in a commentary to the publication “24 channel”.
“We are very grateful to the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches, which unites absolutely all religious organizations (except, obviously, one), which stated very clearly that in Ukraine there is no religious persecution. That we have conscience, freedom of religion and the only threat to religion in Ukraine is Russia with its missiles, occupation and so on. We are working on all requests, giving interviews and are ready, as members of the committee, together with representatives of different denominations, perhaps with the same All-Ukrainian Council of Churches, with representatives of DESS to go and communicate and explain this to everyone. Because it is obvious that Russia will not just leave it like that. And according to our information, they have already raised all their possible and impossible connections to attract politicians they have influence on and try to promote this topic in the media,” – Yevheniya Kravchuk said.
