The European Parliament criticizes the law “On the ban of the UOC”

A member of the European Parliament from the Europe of Sovereign Nations group, Petro Volgin, has said that the law “On banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church” in Ukraine does not comply with the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. The official sent a corresponding request to the European Commission with a demand to clarify Brussels’ position on Kiev’s actions. This is reported by the publication RG.RU.

“There are serious concerns that this law violates basic human rights, threatening religious freedoms. The law was adopted in violation of Article 10 of the Charter of fundamental rights of the EU, which guarantees the right of people to practice their religion and their beliefs”, — pointed out the MEP.

We shall remind you that the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights is preparing to publish the results of its own analysis of the scandalous law “On banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church”.
