As we reported earlier, a special commission of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine has recommended that the lease agreement with the Holy Dormition Pochaev Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church be terminated in court. The reason for this decision was an earlier inspection on the territory of the monastery, which, according to the MCIP, revealed violations.
Pochaev Lavra responded to the demand of the Ministry of Culture to return the icon of Job of Pochaev
The press service of the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra continues to publish refutations of untrue and manipulative statements of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, which the institution published following a special inspection on the territory of the monastery. This time we are talking about the icon depicting St. Job of Pochaev, which the Ministry of Culture demands to return to state ownership. This is reported by the official website of Pochaev Lavra.
“On the basis of a receipt dated April 16, 1991, provided by the Spiritual Council of the Holy Assumption Pochaev Lavra, to the Director of the Pochaev Museum of Atheism, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine requires the urgent return of the Icon of the Monk Job of Pochaev to the Museum. On 02.08.2024, the Holy Assumption Pochaev Lavra sent a request to the MCIP to obtain fund-accounting and title documentation, which became the basis of the requirement, no documents have not yet been received”, – said in the message of the press service of the monastery.
