The Interconfessional Spiritual Council of Transcarpathia is going to expel the UOC from the organization

The Interfaith Spiritual Council of Transcarpathia (analogous to the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches) called on the Transcarpathian Regional Council to convene a meeting of the organization to consider the issue of expelling representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from its membership. The reason for this decision is the information about the Transcarpathian hierarchs of the UOC on the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the regional publication “Announcement of Transcarpathia”.
“We are writing to you with a request to convene a meeting of the Interfaith Spiritual Council of Transcarpathia to consider the expediency of the presence of representatives of the UOC-MP — the so-called “Mukachevo Orthodox Diocese” (headed by Metropolitan Theodore Mamasuev in Mukachevo). The Khust Diocese of the UOC-MP (headed by Metropolitan Mark Petrovtsiy) is not a member of the Council. Confirmation of cooperation between the ROC MP and the head of the so-called “Mukachevo Orthodox Diocese”, Metropolitan Theodore Mamasuev in Mukachevo, and other leaders of the Moscow Patriarchate in Transcarpathia, can be found on the official website of the ROC MP: http://www.patriarchia.ru, in the section “Leaders of the Russian Orthodox Church,” — the appeal to the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration reads.
It is noteworthy that the appeal to exclude representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the Interfaith Spiritual Council of Transcarpathia was initiated by the heads of local dioceses of the OCU and the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Last week, during a regular meeting of the Chernivtsi Regional Council of Churches, local representatives of the OCU submitted a proposal to exclude the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from this organization. The initiative was voted unanimously. Earlier, it was also reported that members of the Council of Churches of the Ternopil region would review the expediency of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s membership in this organization. The decision to exclude the UOC is planned to be made at the next meeting of the organization.
