Ukrainian authorities do not like the Church's unwillingness to make concessions in connection with the law “On the ban of the UOC”

The Ukrainian government is outraged by the unwillingness of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to make concessions in connection with the adoption of the scandalous law No. 3894 aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Such a conclusion can be drawn from the words of the people’s deputy from the party “Servant of the People” Nikita Poturaev, who said that in the UOC “a radical position wins”, the result of which will be the departure of the Church “in the underground”. He said this on the air of the national telethon, reports “Interfax”.

“Today I, as well as my colleagues, are receiving disappointing signals that there so far wins, and I hope that still will not win, the opinion of such a radical group within the UOC, which call on the priesthood to go to confrontation with society and the Ukrainian state, to go into the position of the “persecuted church”, “the church in the underground. So that there was a TV picture, so that there were photos that can be distributed, in particular, in the West, where they actively promote the untruth that someone oppresses them,” — said the Deputy.

We will remind, earlier the head of the Committee on humanitarian and information policy Nikita Poturaev said that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will not go underground after its final ban. The MP is convinced that only a few people in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are ready for such a step, while the majority need familiar conditions.
