The court recognized the decision to demolish the Tithe Church in Kyiv as unlawful

On October 1, 2024, the Kyiv Court of Appeal overturned the decision of the Kyiv Economic Court, which, in February 2023, ordered the Kyiv City State Administration to demolish the Volodymyr-Olginsky (Tithe) Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The judges of the appeal instance satisfied the appeal of the religious community “Tithe Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary” and canceled the ruling of the Economic Court of the city of Kiev, which earlier left without consideration the complaint against the actions of the state executor. This was reported by the lawyer of the UOC Archpriest Nikita Chekman.
“We believe that the actions of the state executor, who unauthorizedly engaged an economic entity to carry out this unauthorized demolition of the temple, are illegal. We realize that this will not return to us for the moment the temple, which was unauthorizedly destroyed by the godless, but we believe that everyone who took part in these illegal actions should be held accountable before God and before the law,” — said the lawyer of the UOC.
We shall remind you that on the night of May 16-17, in violation of procedures and without an official warning, the Kiev authorities demolished the Volodymyr-Olhynskyi (Tithe) Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
