Kiev authorities demolished the Tithe Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

On the night of May 16-17, in violation of procedures and without official warning, the Kiev authorities demolished the Volodymyr-Olhynskyi (Desyatinnyi) church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is reported by the telegram channel of the Desyatinyi monastery of the UOC.
It is reported that at about 22:00 the territory where the temple was located, cordoned off more than a hundred armed police and military. Later, special equipment was brought to the place, which promptly began dismantling of the Church of the Tithe. By 01:00 at the place where the temple was located, there was left a wasteland. In addition, eyewitnesses claim that the police used special means to jam communications and the Internet. To the very place where the demolition of the temple took place, no one was allowed and video filming was forbidden.
It should also be noted that this is the third time in the history of the Tithe temple, when it is subjected to destruction. The first time the temple was destroyed in 1240 during the Mongol-Tatar invasion led by Batu Khan. The second was in 1936 under the communist regime. The third – in 2024 under the president of independent Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Volodymyr-Olginsky (Tithe) Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which was destroyed by the Ukrainian authorities, was consecrated in 2006 by His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine.
