Reports have emerged from Kyiv of the forced mobilization of a priest from the Kitaevskaya Hermitage

An incident occurred in Kyiv involving representatives of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC), as a result of which a clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) was detained and forcibly taken to another region. According to available information, the clergyman was taken to a mobilization center in the Zhytomyr region, where he is being forced to perform military service.

According to the Telegram channel “First Cossack,” Archpriest Igor was detained on July 20 right outside the walls of the Holy Trinity Kitaevsky Monastery. Despite initial assurances from TRC officials that he would be released soon, the priest was taken outside the capital.

At present, Father Igor is being held at a distribution center, where, according to sources, he is being subjected to administrative and psychological pressure aimed at forcing him to take the oath and receive a weapon. In response to the incident, parishioners have begun raising funds to secure qualified legal assistance, protect the priest’s rights, and facilitate his prompt release.
