In France, an Islamist carried out an attack on a Catholic church

Another incident of desecration of a Catholic shrine has been reported in the French town of Le Creusot. A 25-year-old Islamist committed an act of vandalism at the Church of St. Henry, damaging a sculpture of St. Joseph.
The incident occurred during protests that took place in France for several days in a row. The perpetrator entered the church, knocked the statue off its pedestal, and severed the figure’s head from its body, which he subsequently left on one of the church pews. After leaving the church, the man began acting aggressively toward passersby, which led to his arrest by law enforcement officers.
According to police, the suspect was heavily intoxicated and behaving erratically. He has now been sent for a medical examination to assess his mental state. Investigators are continuing to determine the true motives behind the crime.
As a reminder, we previously reported that France is seeing a noticeable resurgence of interest in the Catholic faith, which is causing serious concern among representatives of the Islamic community. The Muslim advocacy group “Mercy for Humanity” issued a statement expressing concern that the strengthening of Christianity could significantly weaken Islam’s spiritual presence in the region.
