Patriarch Daniel of Romania Congratulated the Head of the Phanar on the 35th Anniversary of His Ministry

Patriarch Daniel of Romania sent an official congratulatory message to the head of the Phanar, who is marking the 35th anniversary of his election and enthronement on the throne of Constantinople. The head of the Romanian Church highly commended Patriarch Bartholomew’s many years of pastoral and missionary work carried out for the benefit of the Church. This was reported by the Orthodox Times.

In his message, Patriarch Daniel—on behalf of the members of the Holy Synod, the clergy, and all the faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church—expressed deep respect and brotherly love in Christ. He emphasized the significance of Patriarch Bartholomew’s work and wished him good health and God’s abundant blessings.

As a reminder, on October 27, 2025, during a joint divine service of the heads of the Patriarchates of Constantinople and Romania, Patriarch Bartholomew commemorated the name of the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko. Dumenko’s name was solemnly commemorated in the Diptych; however, as it was being proclaimed, someone from the crowd attending the service shouted, “Anathema!”
