OCU lobbyist Mike Pompeo will not join Donald Trump's new government

Mike Pompeo, one of the archons of the Patriarchate of Constantinople and a lobbyist for the OCU in the United States, will not join Donald Trump’s new government. The newly elected US President thanked former Secretary of State Pompeo for the previous years of cooperation, but indicated that this time the “friend of the OCU” would remain outside the newly formed government. The politician wrote about this on his account on the social network X.

“I do not plan to invite former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley or former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to join the Trump Administration, which will be formed in the near future. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them before and I want to thank them for their service to our country,” Trump wrote.

Earlier, the head of the European Solidarity party and former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he had discussed with the newly elected US President Donald Trump the granting of autocephaly to the OCU. Poroshenko said that this information was not public before, but now he can reveal this secret. In addition, it was reported that it was former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo who oversaw the issue of granting the Tomos of autocephaly to Ukrainian non-canonical associations, on the basis of which the OCU was created in 2018.
