Kherson RSA reports on number of UOC communities re-registered to OCU

Kherson Regional State Administration published data on the re-registration of religious communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in favor of the OCU. According to the RSA, 6 communities in the region were “transferred” from the UOC to the OCU. This is reported in the Telegram channel of the Kherson Regional State Administration.

“Another religious community of St. John the Baptist of the Tauride Diocese in Naddnipryanske decided to move from the UOC to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. At a parish meeting, the faithful voted to leave the Moscow Patriarchate. This decision had already been made the day before by 5 religious organizations in Vodokhreshchenivka, Osokorivka, Myrolyubivka, Vysoke and Antonivka,”  – the Kherson Regional State Administration reported.

As reported, earlier the Rivne Regional State Administration published information on how many parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were re-registered to the OCU. It is reported that in 2014, 550 religious communities of the UOC functioned in the Rivne region. In early 2022, their number decreased to 506, and now there are 446. In turn, the number of parishes of the OCU increased from 258 in 2022 to 413 in 2024. In 2024, eight religious communities of the UOC were re-registered to the OCU. This number is confirmed by the order of the head of the Rivne Regional Administration. Thus, starting in 2022, 60 parishes of the UOC in the Rivne region were officially transferred to the OCU.
