Head of OCU supports anti-government protest in Georgia

The head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, supported the ongoing anti-government protests in Georgia. Dumenko said that he wishes Georgians to become a “free European nation.” He wrote about this on his account on the social network X.
“The Orthodox Church of Ukraine and I personally, as its Primate, pray for the people of Georgia, we wish our brothers and sisters to defend their independence and their future as a free European nation. The truth will prevail! May God bless everyone who is on the side of truth!”, — Epifaniy said.
As reported, on November 30, 2024, the press service of the Georgian Orthodox Church published a statement of the Patriarchate in connection with the ongoing protests due to the intensification of the political crisis in the country. The Church called on the government and the protesters to find understanding and reduce the level of increased aggression, recalling that both sides should be guided by Christian values.
