OCU supporters seize another UOC church in Kyiv region

On December 18, 2024, supporters of the OCU seized the Holy Trinity Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Pasichna, Kyiv region. The OCU cleric, with the support of the police and local “activists,” cut the locks from the church doors and entered the premises. This was reported on his Facebook page by the rector of the Holy Trinity community of the UOC, Archpriest Ivan Omelchuk.

“With sorrow and sadness, I inform you that today the locks were cut off by representatives of the OCU. Accompanied by the police, the church was taken away from our religious community. This is very symbolic, because tomorrow, as we know, is a great holiday — the day of memory of St. Nicholas of Myra. Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra. Tomorrow the service will be held in the premises of the Sunday school. Further details are not yet known. I ask for holy prayers on behalf of our parishioners and myself,” — the priest wrote.

We recall that a few days earlier, in the village of Pasichna, Kyiv region, there was an attack on the local Holy Trinity Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which in October 2022 suffered from arson. This time, the vandals damaged the gate to the territory, entered the church and made a mess in the building.
