OCU organizes opera concert in Cherkasy cathedral seized from UOC

On December 25, 2024, the Archangel Michael Cathedral in Cherkasy, which was taken over from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, will host an opera concert organized by the local diocese of the OCU and the Cherkasy Opera Club. The concert, titled “Children’s Dreams for Christmas,” which will be held in the church, will be open to the public by paying a donation of 100 hryvnias or more. This is reported on the Facebook page of the church stolen from the UOC.

It is noted that the mentioned musical concert will be held on December 25 at 11:00. According to the idea, on this day the OCU celebrates Christmas, in connection with which the church should also host religious events. That is, purely theoretically, the opera concert will take place immediately after the “service.” In the program announcement, the organizers promise “operatic bel canto and classical music.”

We recently reported that the National Conservation Area organized the ethnic festival “Christmas — New Style,” during which the concert troupe of the Kalyna folklore ensemble performed folk songs and dances in the church. The concert took place on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
