Greek Church believers outraged by participation of OCU representatives in services in Greek churches

The Committee of Believers of the Metropolis of Peristerion of the Greek Orthodox Church published several statements regarding the performance of religious events in one of the churches of the diocese by the representative of the OCU Vasily Lilo, who took part in the seizure of the church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in 2023 in Boyarka, Kyiv region. The text says that “the famous vandal, who does not have priestly ordination, served in the church of the Metropolis of Peristerion.” This is reported by the UOJ with reference to the website ΤΑΣ ΘΥΡΑΣ ΤΑΣ ΘΥΡΑΣ.

“False priest from the schismatic OCU Vasily Lilo, who was repeatedly seen accompanying Patriarch Bartholomew in Greece and Cyprus (including participation in the funeral of Chrysostomos II), was involved in violent acts against the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is incomprehensible to human consciousness: before our eyes, the persecutors of the Church are brought to perform services in the churches of Greece,” — the statement reads.

Earlier we reported that the hierarch of the Greek Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythira and Antikythera, spoke in defense of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The bishop pointed out that the clergy and believers of the UOC are being brutally persecuted by the Ukrainian government.
