Earlier, we reported that the United Nations published the final report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, which points out the inconsistency of the norms of the scandalous law No. 3894, aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, with international law. The document states that Ukraine failed to substantiate the need for and proportionality of measures aimed at banning religious organizations.
UN has no right to criticize Ukraine for banning UOC, - OCU lobbyist

Petro Kraliuk, a lobbyist for the OCU in the media, Doctor of Philosophy and Professor of Ostroh Academy, said that the United Nations has no right to criticize the Ukrainian government for banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as the UN failed to protect Ukraine from Russian military invasion. Kraliuk added that the UN should first pay attention to the ban on the OCU in Crimea, and not interfere in Ukraine’s internal affairs. He said this in a commentary to the i-ua.tv TV channel.
“The UN is an ineffective organization. It was created to ensure peace. However, it has not always fulfilled these functions. Especially in the current situation, when Russia attacked Ukraine. After that, a new big war broke out. No one is calling it a world war yet, but it is a world war. And the world order that existed before 2014 has been destroyed. In turn, the UN is demonstrating its ineffectiveness. In this case, the UN criticizes the ban of the UOC-MP in Ukraine because of pro-Russian forces and probably Russian money. Accordingly, Russia’s agents raised the issue that the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine was illegally banned. Although in fact it is the Russian Orthodox Church,” — Kraliuk said.
In addition, the OCU lobbyist called on the UN to start by criticizing Russia for restricting the activities of the OCU in Crimea, and the ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, in his opinion, is an internal affair of Ukraine, which the state will deal with on its own.
“Russia is destroying Ukrainian churches, and the UN does not see it. Although this is a very aggressive policy on the part of the Russian Federation towards these religious structures. Therefore, Ukraine should continue to do what it has been doing and not pay attention to these things. Therefore, we need to give an appropriate explanation and clarification that we are defending our national interests. If the UN could protect us from Russian aggression, then that would be another issue. However, we see that it cannot do so. Therefore, let it not interfere in our internal affairs, we will deal with this ineffective organization on our own,” — the OCU lobbyist summarized.
