UOC hierarch draws attention of believers to “common Easter” of Orthodox and Catholics

The hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Boholep of Oleksandriya and Svitlovodsk, drew the attention of the UOC faithful to the increasingly frequent talk about unifying the date of Easter. The bishop spoke about the difference in views on this issue between the Orthodox and Catholic Churches, urging believers to be cautious about this initiative of the Phanar and the Vatican, which they are actively trying to impose on the whole world. The bishop spoke about this on the YouTube channel of the Olexandria Diocese of the UOC.
“In our tradition, especially the modern tradition, we associate Easter with various situations. For us, Easter is an inspiration, a time of hope. By conveying this information, although it is in plain sight, on the surface, I would like to focus your attention on these points. We must be wise, knowledgeable, aware, understanding,” – the Metropolitan emphasized.
The hierarch drew attention to the fact that the Romanian Orthodox Church has expressed its position on this issue, pointing out that such topics should be discussed at the pan-Orthodox level. Metropolitan Boholep believes that “we must understand, at least to the best of our ability, the processes that are taking place today around the world, in the Christian world.”
Earlier, we reported that the head of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, Patriarch Bartholomew, expressed his readiness to establish a single date for Easter with the Roman Catholic Church. The head of Phanar said this in his speech at the Palace of Europe on the opening day of the PACE winter session in Strasbourg.
