Police seal UOC temple in Vinnytsia region

In the village of Vendychany, Vinnytsia region, the police sealed the church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The reason for such actions of law enforcement agencies was an attempt by supporters of the OCU to get inside the religious building, taking advantage of the absence of the rector of the church. This was reported by the regional edition of Channel 33.

It is reported that the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in the village of Vendychany has long been the subject of conflict between the UOC believers and supporters of the OCU. The latter, using the support of administrative resources, re-registered the documents of the religious community in their favor, declaring claims to the church. However, due to the fact that the actual number of supporters of the OCU is much smaller than the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the raiders cannot take possession of the church.

Thus, taking advantage of the fact that the rector of the church, Archpriest Anatoly Kirichuk, went on a pilgrimage trip, representatives of the OCU tried to enter the church, but this time they faced resistance from UOC believers. The police were called to the scene and sealed the church.

As reported, on January 21, 2025, in the village of Shevchenkove, Kyiv region, supporters of the OCU, accompanied by the police, seized the local Archangel Michael Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The OCU worshipers and their henchmen cut the locks on the front door of the church and entered the premises.
