Another court hearing in the case of Metropolitan Theodosius held in Cherkasy

On February 27, 2025, the Sosnovsky District Court of Cherkasy held a regular hearing in one of the criminal cases against the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kaniv. This time, the prosecution tried to prove the Metropolitan’s guilt by referring to publications on the Russian website Orthodoxy.ru. This was reported by Suspilne.Cherkasy.

It is reported that during the meeting, the evidence against the accused was studied – it was about “the publication of pro-Russian narratives on the website of the Cherkasy Diocese of the UOC.” At the same time, the prosecution examined the website of the Cherkasy diocese via a hyperlink on the Orthodoxy.ru website.

“The materials that the prosecutor is reading have never been posted on the website of the Cherkasy diocese. Let him show at least one screenshot,” – Metropolitan Feodosiy said during the hearing.

The court scheduled the next hearing for March 18, 2025.

As reported earlier, Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kaniv is being tried in five criminal proceedings. According to published information, most of the cases were initiated against the hierarch as a result of investigative measures taken by the Security Service of Ukraine, and their consideration has been going on for more than two years.
