UOC deacon subjected to forced mobilization in Odesa region

On March 4, 2025, representatives of the territorial recruitment center of the Odesa region subjected Archdeacon Andriy Kravchuk, a clergyman of the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Baltic Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to forced mobilization. He was detained in the city of Podolsk, Odesa region, and taken to the local military commissariat. Since then, there has been no contact with the clergyman. This was reported in social networks.

“Tonight (04.03.2025), Archdeacon Andriy Kravchuk, a clergyman of the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Balta, was stopped by the police in the city of Podilsk (Odesa region) and taken to the local military commissariat. The medical examination committee did not respond to the documents provided by the clergyman and the medical examination documents. At present, Archdeacon Andriy Kravchuk has not been allowed to go home, he does not get in touch and there is no information about his whereabouts,” – the statement says.

We will remind, earlier we reported that on February 19, 2025, in the Zhytomyr region, employees of the territorial recruitment center subjected Archpriest Pavel Kushnirchuk, a cleric of the Ovruch Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to forced mobilization. The priest was taken to military units for several days, after which contact with him disappeared.
