Ternopil Diocese of UOC asks to intensify prayers in connection with lawsuits over land under cathedral

The Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church called on believers to intensify their prayers in connection with the court hearings on the illegal alienation of the land plot under the Cathedral and the diocesan administration building. Earlier, the Ternopil City Council decided to deprive the Ternopil Diocese of the UOC of the right of ownership of the said plot, on which the only church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ternopil is located. This was reported on the Facebook page of the diocese.

According to the press service of the Ternopil Eparchy of the UOC, the next court hearings will be held on March 12 and 24, 2025. “Let’s not be lazy and continue to pray that the Lord will strengthen us with His Divine Grace, and the Mother of God will cover us with Her Holy Omophorion,” — the Ternopil Eparchy called.

Earlier we reported that the Ternopil City Council transferred to the religious community of the OCU a land plot (at Ternopil, Konovaltsia Street, 1), where the Cathedral and the diocesan administration of the Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are located. This decision was made by the city council despite the fact that the Supreme Court of Ukraine seized the land, prohibiting the city council from disposing of the property in any way. Now the OCU community, which was given the land under the UOC Cathedral, is going to build a chapel there.
