Recall, March 16, 2025 in Tirana held elections for the new Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church. According to the results of the election process, Metropolitan John of Korczan was elected as the new Beatitude Archbishop of Tirana and All Albania, who had previously held the position of Primate’s See.
A telephone conversation between the head of Phanar and the Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church took place
On March 16, 2025, after his election as Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, a telephone conversation took place between the head of Phanar and the newly elected Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church. Previously, Patriarch Bartholomew sent a written congratulation to His Beatitude Archbishop John. This was reported by the official website of the Albanian Orthodox Church.
“Your Beatitude, holy brother! Having been informed by Phanar of your election to the Archbishopric of Albania, we hasten to congratulate you cordially and, preceding the letters of the Holy Mothers of the World (Local Churches — ed.), with great honor and great love we embrace you in the Lord, wishing you a long and glorious high priestly ministry. Worthy!”, — the greeting reads.
