Volodymyr Zelenskyy published congratulations on St. Patrick's Day

On March 17, 2025, Volodymyr Zelenskyy published a greeting on St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick’s Day is a traditional Irish cultural and religious holiday associated with the special honoring of the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick (circa 385-461 AD). The President took this opportunity to thank the Irish government for its support of Ukraine. Zelensky wrote about this on his account on the social network X.

“Warmest congratulations to the President, the Prime Minister and all Irish people in Ireland and around the world on St. Patrick’s Day. We are sincerely grateful to Ireland for its unwavering support of Ukraine, in particular for helping Ukrainians who have found refuge in Ireland, as well as for its active participation in joint European efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace. Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona duit to all our Irish friends,” — Zelensky wrote.

We will remind, earlier we reported that Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Ukrainians on Christmas in the new style. The Head of State claims that for the second year in a row Ukrainians celebrate this holiday “on the same date”, meaning December 25 on the Gregorian calendar, and this factor is unifying for the country. At the same time, it draws attention to the fact that the President of Ukraine has not reacted in any way to Christmas in the old style. Neither on January 6, nor on January 7, the official mass media of the Office of the President of Ukraine did not react in any way to the fact that one third of the country’s population celebrates this holiday according to the Julian calendar.
