Head of the Church of Cyprus expresses support for the Patriarchate of Antioch
On March 12, 2025, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, His Beatitude Archbishop George, sent a letter of support to the Orthodox Church of Antioch in connection with the ethnic and religious cleansing carried out by radical Islamists in Syria. This was reported by the official website of the Patriarchate of Antioch.
It is reported that Patriarch John X of Antioch and all the East received a letter of solidarity from Archbishop George of Cyprus. In his letter, His Beatitude expressed the support of the Church of Cyprus to the people of the Church of Antioch in connection with what happened on the Syrian coast. He reaffirmed that the Church of Cyprus joins the prayers of the Church of Antioch in calling on the Father of Lights to send peace to Syria and comfort to souls and hearts.
