Ministry of Culture creates working group to take inventory of Kyiv Cave Monastery property

The head of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Mykola Tochytskyi, has signed a decree establishing a working group to study the current state, use and preservation of state property located on the territory of the Kyiv Cave Monastery. The group will consist of five people. This is reported in the decree of the Ministry of Culture.

“I ORDER:
1. To establish a Working Group to study the current state of accounting, use and preservation of state property assigned to the National Reserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” on the right of operational management, the boundaries and regimes of use of the territory and buffer zone of the World Heritage Site (hereinafter — the Working Group), composed according to the Appendix.
2. The Working Group:
carry out the above activities during March 2025;
to submit a report and make appropriate proposals based on the results of the work performed.
3. The Head of the National Conservation Area “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” should ensure that the representatives of the Working Group have full and unimpeded access to the assets, documents, information and databases necessary for the inspection.
4. Control over the implementation of this order shall be entrusted to the Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine Serhiy Belyaev,” — the decree reads.

We recall that on March 25, 2025, a commission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine arrived at the territory of the “Lower” Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to conduct an “audit” of the holy relics of the Kyiv-Pechersk saints. A group of people representing the commission gathered at the entrance to the Near Caves of the Lavra.
